Sustainability Committee

Formed in September 2012, the Sustainability Committee is charged with seeking out resources and crafting strategies to move the MiSHCA toward sustainability.  Thanks to their efforts MiSHCA is now a self-sustaining 501c3 Non-Profit (as of 2017).  Resources and strategies are brought to the Executive Committee.  Per the Executive  Committee’s discretion, recommendations by the Sustainability Committee may be brought to the association, as a whole, for a vote.

Thank you to the members of the Sustainability Committee for the hard work and persistence that made the 2017 Connecting with Kids through School Health conference such a success!

Current strategies brought to the association and Executive Committee include:

  • Proposing restructuring and updating association dues.
  • Looking into the history of voting rights in the association.
  • Looking at membership as a way to strengthen key partnerships.

Future activities may include:

  • Grant seeking: competitive federal grants, foundation grants
  • Identifying services or products the association could provide and make revenue to put back into the association.
